Here we depict the charge on the dots by blurred blue clouds. This is accurate because the science of Quantum Mechanics says that at this near atomic scale, charge (on electrons and protons) does not come in sharp little balls.

Charges of the same type (positive or negative) still repel one another so our two clouds of charge will move as far from one another as possible by running to opposite corners of the QCA.

But there are two possibilities and we can use these as a unit of digital memory by labeling one configuration as a "0" and the other as a "1."
