PROJECT OVERVIEW: |
This "Virtual Lab" website was developed by John C. Bean. It began under a grant from the National Science Foundation's CCLI program, and grew under subsequent NIRT, MRSEC and NUE awards. It has now been combined with Bean's Nanoscience and Sustainable Energy websites to form WeCanFigureThisOut.org (about / contact).
|
SOFTWARE TOOLS: |
The Virtual Lab's animations were created using the program "3D Studio MAX." The website is built upon PHP programming calling upon MySQL databases. |
PAGE CREDITS: |
These pages on basic electrical circuits were developed by students and faculty of the Shenandoah Regional Governor's High School (Fishersville VA) in collaboration with UVA. This page was created by students at CSVRGS: David Marbury, Sarah Caulkins, Tyler Walk, and Carter Santos. The work was overseen by Thomas O?Neill.

In this scenario the gerbils (battery) produce a larger potential difference than the capacitor can handle.
As the gerbils run the water is lifted to a high potential that will rupture the membrane on the right.
