The force a magnetic field exerts on an electron is given by this equation (part of the "Lorentz Force Law"):

F = q ( v x B)

F (force), v (velocity) and B (magnetic field) are all vectors which means that they have a magnitude AND a direction.

"q" is the electron's charge and the x denotes a vector "cross product."

Let's take it in steps - first let's show the B (magnetic field) vector.
